THE PATH

The Path EP Cover Music

Survival

A basic instinct that is hardcoded in our brains. But do we have what it takes to pull it off? Does it depend on us exclusively or must we rely on others?

One way or the other, the most important is to play smart and not to neglect any opportunity that is given to us. Knowledge comes from high above!

The main idea was to tell a story of a man in a situation where the boundaries between right and wrong are not so clear. To do so I put the main character at war, it couldn’t be more difficult, right?!!

So he has to survive but at the same time, he has to be as fair as possible. If you think a little bit that’s why we have some war regulations.

So the question is: Are his actions a survival issue or a war crime? Do these regulations really control everything in this scenario? We hope so… right?!

Well, the main character isn’t sure what to do, I suppose most people who go to war don’t have the time to learn all laws of men that define where the line between right and wrong are, and that such laws probably are not able to cover all cases a soldier faces in the field.

That’s why he turned himself to the most ancient resource of all: faith.

Lyrics

Renato Angelo, Sabrina Todt, Amanda Somerville and Sander Gommans

Serene comes the night again,
convinced to do things right so then,
Let it come through your door
Showing the way…

Some say respect is all you can give,
but I see there so much more I can live,
can’t you see I’m more.
Show me the way…

Silence is your worst weapon,
against those who will fight you,
Sharp is the blade against fools.

Come and clear the path for us,
knowledge comes from high above…

So this is where are lives had led,
the foes will have to fight to the end,
battles fist to fist ending in pain.

Now bliss and sorrows are part of all,
without both we’ll never learn how to crawl,
to comprehend what we gain,
show me the way…

Silence is your worst weapon,
against those who will fight you,
Sharp is the blade against fools.

Come and clear the path for us,
knowledge comes from high above,
lead me through this cruelty,
so I can find some loyalty.
